Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) is a division of Société Générale, one of the world's largest banks with EUR 422 billion assets under management (December 2006) and offices in over 45 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
SG CIB's Equity Derivatives and Structured Products division has been active in the U.S. and in Canada since the early-1990s. In connection with Lyxor AM, its dedicated asset management company, the department runs the largest structured alternative investment business in the world with over USD 95 billion in assets under management.
Through the use of derivatives combined to a dedicated approach, the division works closely with institutional investors, family offices and funds of hedge funds to tailor solutions that reflect their own risk/reward appetite. The department offers a full range of financial solutions including principal protected products, leveraged / credit facilities, portable alpha structures, hidden assets and hedge funds exposures.
Société Générale was named ‘Equity Derivatives House of the Year’ in 2004 and 2005 by IFR, Risk and The Banker. In 2006 the bank was again recognized as ‘Equity Derivatives House of the Year’ by IFR and The Banker and won most major ‘Equity Derivatives House of the Year’ awards across the world.
In July 2007, Société Générale was named “Modern Great in Equity Derivatives”. This award recognizes the institution that has been at the forefront of innovation in equity derivatives and taken the market to the next level not only in terms of innovation, but also in “thought leadership, trading savvy, commitment, and good client service over the past 5-10 years”.
