About Dr. Samantha Nutt

Dr. Samantha Nutt is a medical doctor (public health specialist) and the Founder and Executive Director of War Child Canada, one of Canada's leading charities helping war-affected children. She is also a staff physician at SunnyBrook and Women's Health Science Centre in Toronto, and an associate professor in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr Nutt has more than a decade of experience working in the world's most violent flashpoints - including Iraq, Afghanistan, Congo, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Liberia, northern Uganda and others. One of Canada's Top 40 Under 40, and a member of the Maclean's Honour Roll, Dr. Nutt has contributed to Maclean's magazine on war-related issues and appears nationally in print, radio and television media as an expert on the global impact of war. In 2005, Dr Nutt was profiled by Time Magazine as one of Canada's top five leading activists and by CBC News Sunday as an outstanding Canadian leader. In 2006, she was chosen by Chatelaine in 2006 as one of 12 Canadian women they would most like to see run for politics. In March, 2007 she will be featured in the CBC Radio One program "This I Believe".
