Warren Chin is president of Ilex Consulting Inc. He has spent several years in the pharmaceutical industry working in diverse departments such as Regulatory Affairs, Government Affairs, Business Development, and Marketing. During that time, he had responsibility for establishing and managing the health economics function. He left the pharmaceutical industry and began working as an independent health economics consultant in 1994. 

Chris Bonnett is president of H3 Consulting, which develops strategy for workplace health issues, and provides health policy research and analysis, focusing on the private sector. Chris is also co-founder and Editor of businesshealth, a periodical distributed to 2,500 employers that addresses issues and opportunities in health benefits and healthier workplaces. He is also an Associate of The Great Place to Work Institute Canada, which publishes the annual Best Workplaces in Canada list. Chris is also a volunteer board member at a community hospital in Haliburton County, Ontario. He holds a Master’s degree in Health Science from the University of Toronto.



Martin Chung


Martin is presenting on:
Inhaled Insulin - Helping Diabetics Who Require Insulin to Improve Blood Glucose Control

Martin is Senior Manager of Private Sector Strategy and Partnership Development at Pfizer Canada.  A graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto he has over 15 years experience in various capacities in hospital, community practice, pharmacy business management and the pharmaceutical industry.  During this time and now with Pfizer Canada, Martin continues to be involved in sharing the value of health management with key health stakeholders.  In addition to continuing active practice in Pharmacy, Martin is actively involved with numerous professional, industry and charitable associations.

Martin currently works with and advises a number of organizations in the private sector to develop health strategies and deployment smart practices. Martin is passionately involved in communicating an integrated, total value based approach to workplace health and has been a speaker at numerous seminars and events across Canada.





Dr. Amir Hanna


Amir is presenting on:
New emerging diabetes therapies: will they impact the diabetes epidemic?

Amir is professor emeritus for the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is staff endocrinologist, Deputy Division director for Endocrinology and Metabolism, as well as director of diabetes clinics at St. Michael’s Hospital. Amir is a member of numerous committees, including the Canadian Diabetes Association where he has also held chair and editor-in-chief positions in his career. Amir received the Colin R. Woolfe Award, CME, University of Toronto, for long-term Contribution to Continuing Medical Education, 1994-95 and in 2003, received the Gerald Wong award of the Canadian Diabetes Association for significant contributions to the Diabetes community.

He has special interest in the treatment of type 2 diabetes with oral antihyperglycemic agents, the metabolic syndrome and vascular protection in patients with diabetes mellitus.  He also has an interest in insulin pump therapy in type 1 diabetes and treatment of diabetes associated with cystic fibrosis.  Amir is a principal and co-investigator in several clinical studies in type 2 diabetes addressing the role of new insulins and oral antihyperglycemic agents. He has 95 peer reviewed publications & abstracts, 76 non-peer reviewed publications and seven book chapters to date.



Mitra Montazeri

Mitra is presenting on:
The Current Challenges of Treating HIV

Mitra obtained her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Toronto and then joined Dupont Pharma in 1995. Here she functioned in various capacities, including Medical Information specialist, Phase IV clinical trials manager and was very much involved with bringing Sustiva to the Canadian market. In 2002, Mitra joined Bristol- Myers Squibb and has been the Medical Science Liaison in virology since that time. 





Willena Talbot

Willena is presenting on:
Biologics: Small Molecule vs. the New Large Molecule Biologic Drugs

Willena Talbot has a B.Sc. in Pharmacy and practiced as a pharmacist for three years in both clinic and hospital settings. Willena completed a M.Sc. and a Ph.D. at Dalhousie University in the Faculty of Pharmacology. Her worked concentrated on the role of T-cell recognition of colon cancer cells. She has over nine years experience in the pharmaceutical industry working in various roles within marketing, medical and market access departments and is currently working for Amgen Canada Inc. as a Senior Regional Medical Liaison.
