Over 1,800 employees across Canada drive all our efforts through their talent, commitment and experience. They also share the same values – quality, collaboration, integrity, respect for people and leadership – that allow us to contribute to our overall corporate goal of being recognized as the best pharmaceutical company in the world.
Outstanding Global Brands
Pioneering developments in pharmaceuticals have been our heritage. Today, Wyeth is also at the forefront of research into vaccines and biotechnology. Our product portfolio covers a wide range of therapeutic areas including women’s healthcare, neuroscience, musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular therapy, vaccines and infectious disease treatment, hemophilia, immunology and oncology.
Science, Research and Partnerships
At Wyeth, our eyes are on the future and our commitment to research and development is clear evidence of that focus. Wyeth Canada invested over $69 million in 2007 to support research and development in Canada.
Wyeth’s state-of-the-art facility in Saint-Laurent, Québec, is a world-class setting for the development of new chemicals and compounds. In Canada, Wyeth researchers are engaged in a number of clinical and post-marketing studies in a range of therapeutic categories.
Our strong commitment to supporting Canadian research has also been established through our long-standing partnership with the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR). During the past six years, Wyeth Canada, in partnership with the CIHR and host universities, has awarded 60 post-doctorate research fellowships and 13 Clinical Research Chairs in therapeutic areas including psychiatry, obstetrics/gynecology, rheumatology, transplantation, vaccines, oncology and hematology for a total contribution of $15.8 million to Canadian researchers and scientists whose goals and achievements are recognized as the best in the country.
We remain committed to further strengthening our relationship with the CIHR as well as other partners. Collaboration nurtures the seeds of discovery – bringing effective, innovative discoveries to fruition and leading the way to a healthier world.
